You are highly welcome to Bayero University. The university was initially established in 1964 as a humanity-based institution (Abdullahi Bayero College) with only ten students (awarded Ahmadu Bello University degrees), it changed into Bayero University in 1976 awarding its own degrees. Join us in BUK to study the course of your choice. There are about thirty four thousand undergraduate students enrolled currently in the university. Several courses offered with different durations say four, five years and more.

BUK Management Pays Thank-You Visit to KHAIRUN Over Colloquium Honouring VC, Prof. Haruna Musa
The Management of Bayero University, Kano, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa, fsi, on Monday paid a thank-you visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), Professor Abdulrashid Garba, and the University's management in appreciation of the colloquium organised in honour of the 12th Vice-Chancellor of BUK. The two-day colloquium, conference and book presentation, held on 18 and 19 August 2026, celebrated Professor Musa's first year in office.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Professor Ahmad Muhammad Tsauni, has identified mindset change, institutional resilience and collective responsibility as the foundation for sustainable Nigerian universities. Delivering the revived BUK Public Lecture titled "Development Dynamics and the Sustainability of Nigerian Universities," he urged universities to move beyond dependence on government funding by embracing innovation, diversified funding, strategic partnerships and institutional thinking.

EXTENSION OF BUKAT AND BUKDES EXERCISE DUE TO REMITA PLATFORM OUTAGE
The Management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) wishes to inform all prospective candidates and members of the public that the BUK Admission Screening Exercise (BUKAT) and BUKDES exercise has been extended by two (2) weeks.
The extension is to compensate for the period lost as a result of the REMita platform outage, which affected the payment and registration processes during the exercise.
