Bayero University, Kano, on Thursday, 23rd October 2025, received a delegation from the Jigawa State College of Education, Gumel, who paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa, fsi, to congratulate him on his appointment as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Leading the delegation, the Provost of the College, Dr. Nura Muhammad Ringim, described the visit as both a gesture of goodwill and an opportunity to strengthen their partnership with Bayero University. He praised BUK for its consistent support and responsiveness to the College’s academic and administrative needs, especially in matters related to their affiliation. Dr. Ringim also presented some of the challenges facing the College, including requests for an increase in admission quotas and financial constraints affecting the smooth running of affiliated programmes.

In his response, Professor Haruna Musa expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed Bayero University’s commitment to sustaining its long-standing relationship with the College. He assured the delegation that the University would explore practical solutions to the concerns raised, noting that BUK values its role in enhancing the quality of teacher education in the region. The Vice-Chancellor also directed the Dean, School of Continuing Education, Professor Usman Da’u Aliyu, and the Chairman, Affiliation Committee, Professor Salihu Lawal Malumfashi, to continue providing the necessary guidance and support to the College.

The visit featured the presentation of a congratulatory letter to the Vice-Chancellor, an exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph to mark the occasion. The delegation included the Registrar, Malam Bala Isyaku Ismail, Bursar, Malam Kabiru Abubakar, and the Dean, School of Undergraduate Studies, Dr. Turaki Usman.
