The Bayero University Kano Alumni Association (BUKAA) on Saturday, 6th September 2025, held its 35th Annual General Meeting (AGM), drawing distinguished alumni from across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones for a day of reflection, networking, and renewed commitment to the growth of their alma mater.
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Bayero University, Kano, on Friday, 5th September 2025, rolled out the drums to honour the Registrar, Malam Haruna Aliyu, for a groundbreaking one year in office marked by milestone achievements and reforms that touched the lives of staff and advanced the University’s progress.
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Professor Hafiz Miko on Thursday, 4th September 2025. Until his passing, Professor Miko had just been appointed as the pioneer Provost of our newly established College of Humanities.
All is set for the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bayero University, Kano Alumni Association (BUKAA), as the executives have concluded preparations for what promises to be a memorable gathering of alumni of the University.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Air Vice Marshal Saddik Ismaila Kaita (rtd), has commended the Bayero University Alumni Association for its visionary plan to launch a ₦500 billion endowment fund aimed at repositioning the institution for sustainable growth and development.
The Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Professor Haruna Musa, has inaugurated the Board of Directors of L’Excellence Nigeria Limited, a newly established company by the Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA).
