BUK Secures Share of $38 Million AFD-Funded ICT Development Grant for 10 Nigerian Universities

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has been selected as one of ten federal universities to benefit from a $38 million ICT Development initiative funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) under the Blueprint-ICT-Dev Project of the Federal Government.

The landmark project, officially launched on Tuesday, 1st July 2025, at the National Universities Commission (NUC) headquarters in Abuja, aims to transform Nigeria’s tertiary education system through digital innovation, infrastructure, and the creation of smart campuses.

BUK Council Appoints Prof. Haruna Musa as 12th Vice-Chancellor

The Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano has officially appointed Professor Haruna Musa as the institution’s 12th Vice-Chancellor. The announcement was made during a Council meeting held on Thursday, 3rd July 2025, where Prof. Musa was formally presented with his letter of appointment. He will assume office on August 18, 2025, succeeding Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, whose tenure ends later in August after a transformative five-year leadership.
