The Management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabi’u University of Nigeria (KHAIRUN) has congratulated Professor Haruna Musa on his appointment as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano.

Led by its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, the KHAIRUN delegation paid a courtesy visit to Professor Musa in his office on Wednesday, 20th August, 2025. Professor Garba said the entire management team was delighted to felicitate with him and to wish him a successful tenure.

The Board of Trustees of the Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Endowment Fund on Tuesday, 19th August, 2025 held its inaugural meeting in Abuja, marking a historic milestone in the University’s drive towards sustainable funding and institutional development.

It was a historic day at Bayero University, Kano (BUK) on Monday, 18th August, 2025, as Professor Haruna Musa officially assumed duty as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the institution, succeeding Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas. The colourful handing-over ceremony, attended by members of the University community and stakeholders, marked a new chapter in the life of BUK.

In his inaugural address, Prof. Musa pledged to reposition Bayero University as one of Nigeria’s top-ranking universities and a globally recognized centre of excellence.

The Registrar of Bayero University, Kano , Malam Haruna Aliyu, alongside senior staff and academics of the institution, have showered glowing tributes on the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, for what they described as his gigantic impact in transforming the university’s research, teaching, and community development.

In a landmark achievement, Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has successfully resolved its decades-long land dispute with the Danzakara community, bringing an end to years of tension and paving the way for stronger ties with its neighbors.

The breakthrough, which comes just days before the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, completes his five-year tenure, was facilitated by the intervention of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Bayero University, Kano’s Old Campus gained a fresh landmark on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, as Vice-Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas officially commissioned the remodeled campus gate — a project designed by one of the university’s own students.
